Introduction
David W. Denton, Ed.D., is an Assistant Professor at
Seattle Pacific University. He is currently teaching Inquiry and
Assessment to graduate students and Secondary Social Studies Methods to
undergraduates. His research interests include instructional technology,
reflective thinking, mixed methodology, and electronic portfolios.
He is also co-editor of Curriculum in Context, an
online journal published by Washington State Association for Supervision
and Curriculum Development.
Background
Before joining SPU, David worked for eleven years in the North Kitsap
School District. David has taught mathematics, social
studies, language arts, physical education, horticulture, and science to
middle level students.
He has coached eleven seasons in three different sports at the junior
high level and he holds National Board Certification in early adolescent
mathematics.
David was raised in Eugene, Oregon, and he earned his bachelor's and
master's degrees at the University of Oregon. His doctoral
degree is from Seattle Pacific University.
He lives with his wife and three children in Suquamish. His interests
include bicycling, woodworking, and reading.
